Can't get MSI to recognize in Pro Tools

Hello. I just installed MSI onto a Pro Tools (sorry not DP) 7.3.1 HD system, Dual 2 Ghz, 2.5 GB RAM- and I can get the MSI RTAS plugin to instantiate, and the presets to load but... :

a. I cannot get any MIDI into MSI this way though I can get the MIDI to recognize if I start MSI as a standalone. Any ideas or suggestions ?

b. How do I get my kybd to send signal to a different MIDI channel? i.e. A1 then A2 ? And, also, how do you guys use MSI to sequence ?
