Motu 24i/o doesn't showup in pci audio setup

Post by dirk018 »

Hi,

i'm trying to hook up this baby with my pc but until now without success

What have i already done : removed all pci cards and video card (agp)
and removed all drivers and cubase, then installed motu drivers, shutdown pc, install motu pci-424 card.

The card is shown in device manager but no showup in pci audio setup.

After pc is booted only then i power up my 24i/o. I tried a new firewire cable but no luck. Also moved the card in another slot but no result.

When i power on my 24i/o it lightens up the bitrates (orange) and then no lights or leds. Is this normal ?

When you power up the 24 i/o does the bit rates stop flashing after 5 seconds? It usualy stops on 44.1.The led's only light up when there is a signal coming through. What daw are you using?Does the 24 i/o show up in your sound devices in your daw?If you see motu asio,it should work fine.Just remember, inside the motu control panel, you have to activate which inputs and ouputs you will be using or they wont show up in your daw.

Indeed the bit rates stop flashing after 5 seconds but doesn't stop on 44.1. No led's at all are lit.

The motu drivers show up my sound devices. In Cubase 3 SE motu asio also shows up but in the motu control panel no sign of a motu device so i can't activate any in- or outputs

This is what shows in my device manager :

MOTU PCI Audio Driver
MOTU PCI GSIF Driver
MOTU PCI Wave Driver

You may have a bad unit.I read on a different thread where a user with a similar problem with a different interface found out tha it was the fuses in there unit.Contact motu asap if you haven't yet.

motu replaced my card with a pci-x 424 card but the problems remains.

if the card comes straight from motu and it doesn't work i guess it must be the unit itself

it is the 24 i/o unit itself. Tested it with a brandnew motu and then everything works fine.

This the setup that works

Asus P4C800
PCI-X 424 + 24i/o
512 MB Ram
Intel P4 2,8

Thanks for all your help

I want to mention that MOTU USA replaced my 24i/o and everything works flawlessly.

Thanks MOTU for your excellent support !!
