motu 2408 mk iii /cubase sx 3.1.1.944 crashes

I own the 2408 mk iii and i am constantly facing the ever dreaded blue screen:DRIVER_IRQ_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL! (Event Type: Error Description:
Error code 100000d1, parameter1 00000000, parameter2 00000002, parameter3 00000008, parameter4 00000000. )
(Description:
Error code 100000d1, parameter1 923e643d, parameter2 00000002, parameter3 00000001, parameter4 e29418ac.)
(Description:
Error code 100000d1, parameter1 906ae2c8, parameter2 00000002, parameter3 00000000, parameter4 8a0beb52.)

As you may notice the numbers differ but the cause seems to be the same!I get the blue screen each and every time i don't allow at least fifteen seconds before shutting down cubase after i save the arrangement!Recently a new development has surfaced!If i dare import an audio file in the project the blue screen is inevitable and strikes at lightning speed!!!!!!!!!
Is this a motherboard related problem as i read in so many topics so far?BTW here are the specs on my system:

Are you able to play sounds in Media Player or iTunes thru the 2408?
Do you have the onboard sound disabled in the bios? If not, do that.
Do you have the serial/parallel ports disabled in the bios? If not, do that.
If youre using PCI-e graphics card only, do you have the onboard disabled? Do that.

If all that does not change it, switch PCI clots and have Windows reinstall the drivers. Basicaly, you need to free up system resources by disabling things youre not using. Those take up interrupts and dont leave enough free room for the things you need to use.

I already did all the things you suggested but , alas , no luck!As for devises there are only two of them! The motu and the msi! Unless you count the dvds and the hdds as devices! I am pretty sure i need to have those installed! Yet my question remains:Could this be a chipset compatibility problem?

I dont think so. We've built lots of 965 based systems using intels le board. Not much difference than the board you're using except for the onboard graphics.

Which card is it? the pci or pci-e?

It is the pci-e.I have tried everything believe me! At the moment the only things on my system are the vga and the motu and the software is as follows: windows cubase halion3 battery3 ! Yet in Device Setup/VST Audiobay/MOTU PCI ASIO the clock source displays nothing! I tested the 424 earlier in a friend's system and it worked flawlessly! I am seriously considering of replacing my mobo with the Gigabyte P35-DS3P ! ANY IDEAS? BTW I WOULD LIKE TO EXPRESS MY GRATITUDE TOWARDS EVERYONE THAT TAKE THE TIME AND TRY TO HELP ME OUT!

Have you tried this.

Remove the graphics card, put 424 card in different PCIe slot. Use onboard graphics.
Same problems? Different?

I would not use the P35 chipset just yet. There are many proven 965 based systems out there working fine. Seems the problem is the onboard graphics and the way it must share some of the resources. Since you have a graphics card, why don't you just get the lt board? I know that one works, Ive set them up myself.

Oh, and be sure you have the latest bios.

The following is an exact copy of my latest attempt of communication with motu tech support.The reason I am posting it here is for everyone to see and perhaps even help somebody else avoid facing the trouble and frustration i am still going through!Ah,one last thing:I have been a motu user for the past 9 YEARS !I own the 2408 mk i!Never have i faced such problems!!!!! Here are the facts:Motherboards used:Intel DG965W x2,Gigabyte 965P-DQ6,Gigabyte GA P35-DS4!Graphics cards:Msi NX 7300GS,Asus 5900 pcie GT,XFX 7500 GS,Albatron 6600GT!
Ram DIMMS:8x KVR667D2N5/1G in pairs or fours!Six sets of Sata II cables,4 sets of IDE cables!FIVE(5)different versions of Windows XP Pro and Corporate editions(last one fully updated two days ago)!Last but not least:CPU's:Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 2.4Ghz,Intel P4 640 3.2Ghz!Three Heroichi 500W-PRO 24/20POWER SUPPLY units!Room temperature is 24-28c and both the computer and the 2408 interface are powered by the APC Back-Ups RS 1000!Cpu temperature ranges from 40-46c!All voltage outputs from the computer's power supply have been repeatedly checked and verified! Still i get the blue screens and the ever dreaded DRIVER_IRQ_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL message!I am sorry if i sound a bit harsh but there is no way on God's green earth(or in Devil's red hell for that matter)that i can be convinced that this is NOT 2408's problem!Any comments?By the way for the past two days i switched to the Realtek Ac 97 onboard sound card and everything is peachy except for the sound of course which is awful!Any comments?

Hello, has this setup worked previously??? or is this is an upgrade, and then no more worky situation? If this is a new system, I'd say you've discovered an incompatible hardware setup. Hope you get it sorted.

Hi all.. im a newb here.. but im having too much 'blue screens' and its drvining me nuts!

here's what i posted on the technical support site:

System information OSWindows XPOS versionversion 2002 : servicepack2CPU1.60 GHzRAM 512MBAdditional system info
i have used a MI4 soundcard in the past
Additional information Troubleshootingsee previous
Steps to reproduce- insert cd ..... nothing happens (no directions as said in the manual) except that im asked to browse the cd.
- searching for instal file ..... VERY DIFFICULT
- found the instal prog and had run it with the 828mk2 off (of course)
- windows crashes after 5 drivers were installed
- reboot and retry
- succesful installation.. reboot
- when 828mk2 turned on, windows doesn't recognize it and it's as if no drivers were installed!
- checked hardware list for troubles
- have let windows search for right drivers
- INSTALLATION WORKED! ... (here i should have stopped)
- registration of product
- download of updated drivers
- installed drivers, reboot
end- now i can't even go back to the earlier setting

DetailsDrivers included on CD or on this website DO NOT help windows recognize the hardware!! i am furious about this, because at first i tried the CD.. rebooted.. no recognition of the hardware.. then i tried and let windows track down the right driver... it worked@! but then i tried to update the drivers with the ones on the download section... again, same problem at first and now all of a sudden windows can't find the drivers which did work, well actually only GSIF and Audio Wave doesn't work.

please help.. i've reinstalled the latest drivers from the website. and when i use Cubase it will not allow me to add extra busses.. the pc instantly crashes with this technical info:

Dear Frenghiz i am really sorry to see more and more people facing the problems i am facing!Luckily after testing a Focusrite SAFFIRE PRO, two MOTUs 828, an RME Fireface 800 and a TASCAM FW-1082 and having them all performing flawlessly on the aforementioned SYSTEMS i solved the problem!!!!!!!!I PURCHASED TWO ECHO AUDIOFIRE 12 AND TO HELL WITH THE 2408 MK III! Sorry if anyone does not agree with my anger issues but i do have a studio to run and i do need to have equipment that ACTUALLY WORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi,

I didnt post this here.. but actually something very rare has happenned! MS actually fixed the problem for me.. after two updates for windows, i dont get the blue screens any more when trying to use the MOTU.
I have to say that, now its working, it is an amazing piece of equipment and i've actually never heard the real quality of my previous recording until now

it's a bummer installation never really goes flawlessly.. but in the end i love this 828mkII!

Try buying a real copy of Cubase instead of the cracked H2O-release. It will work smoothly. I assure you that!!!

You mean to say that from everything you read in my topics you chose to ignore that i actually composed 8 (EIGHT) different computers , missed the part where about a dozen other interfaces (including THREE Motu ones) worked flawlessly and you concluded that the problem is a cracked version of cubase which happens to be working in about 4 dozen machines (that i know of) with no problems (not to mention that in most cases works better than the original) for the past one and a half to two years!I don't mean to be rude but how much thinking did you invest in this?By the way i sent my motu back to the dealer , they replaced the pci-e card and now it won't even recognize the interface any more and that on a mac running an original Logic 7 and my pc running an original Nuendo 3.2!Any more bright ideas?

Actually I'm considering a 2408 Mk2 (used) or a Mk3 for my new DAW set-up. I understand that Motu is quite picky when it comes to mobos. Isn't that right? I will have an MSI with the P35 intel chipset. Will that work?
