some new demo tunes

Post by jgest »

If anybody has any feedback, criticism, suggestions or insults
I'd be happy to hear what you have to say......

I have been programming some new tunes to add guitar and such to.
http://www.myspace.com/djwigginsmaroo

My current set up is quite ghetto in the monitoring dept, so I don't have an honest sense of what is happening in the stereo field.
Macbook pro, 3 gigs of ram, osx 10.62, Dp 5.13, Live 8.1.2, Reason 4, Tc powercore Virus, Albino 3.02, proper ergonomic sitting posture, plenty of coffee (french press only with a pinch of cardamon added)
My dp inspired music.....

I'll be watching to see what our 'Cornie friends say, Josh.
For the record, 'Corners, I've already passed judgement.

Well, I passed something anyway.

Well I think i may have cheated, most of these are still just reason tracks I have been messing around with trying to come up with the "underbelly" for eventual tracks. But you always share the love monkey, I appreciate that as I climbed out of a dark hole the past year to get re inspired and remotivated to follow my passion........and get sucked into gear envy and buy, buy, buy, buy.....more!

buy buy buy!!!!
errr, i mean...i really dig the saw. that's my fave of the stuff posted. of course, i'm a sucker for string pads...cool ideas going on in that one.

just out of curiousity...how do you handle your arpeggiations? do you let the synth itself do them, or do you actually sequence/copy/paste?

nice work....can't wait to hear the finished stuff!

Thank you for the feedback, i really appreciate it. :D
Hopefully, I can start to think about bringing these into a more finnished product.
I actually sequence everything/copy/paste and buss the sh*t out of it into delay......
I am looking forward to the new arpeggiator in reason 4 though.....
Honestly, I am not that tech, gear, dr synth knowledgeable. I am just a schmuck with some delusional dreams and passions, who when finds the time, sits (as well as stretches) and through struggle and hard work hopefully is able to polish a turd or two.....
I envy many people on this board as well as other who are light years ahead of me on how to work the latest synths, efx, engineer, master.....such and such.

Let's hope so. Shrink, de-leven, reduce, diminish or break one's self, and there's hope a plenty for much improvement and usefulness.
Inflate, leven, expand or mend one's ego, and one's already headed for the next show-stopping, world-shattering jolt of reality.

I don't wanna have to become a geek who's destined to inherit the girth, as they say.
Meek it is, Josh. Well, I'm working on it, anyway.

you're welcome.
i figure that as long as you enjoy yourself, and like what you come up with...other people will dig it too. my knowledge of synths, etc is likewise pretty limited, but something about synthesizers just keeps me endlessly fascinated. i'm getting better at the other technical stuff (mostly mixing)...it just comes with time/practice/attention. either way...if it ever stops being fun, i'll stop doing it.
i like listening to other peoples' stuff...it's a great way to learn, and rip off good ideas or different approaches that i would never have thought of!
