Patch Change

Post by Diazruanova »

Hi,

I have been trying to change the patches from my external keyboard, let‘s say from normal Piano to bright piano, but have found nothing on the users manual.

Is there a way to do it?

Thanks in advance

There is a part in the manual about that but I forgot where. Look in the index for ptaches and/or changes.

You first need to have Audio-MIDI Setup to recognize your keyboard though.

Thanks Dwetmaster,

I have this old Roland MKB-300 which I have been using for ages and I have it configured at Audio MIDI SetUp as my master controller. I can change successfully the patches of my external hardware Synths and Samplers successfully, in fact, MSI detects (via MIDI LED) whenever I am pressing the
banks and/or the program change buttons on it, but there is no MIDI option within MSI that enables this command.

Otherwise, I can play without problems MSI and it receives all the Continuous Controllers and obey to them diligently, but not program or patch changes.

I don't think MSI responds to patch changes (it would take a minute to unload/load some presets anyway, especially the pianos). An alternative is loading both presets in separate parts, then using Expert Mode to change which part is being played.

Yes, that makes sense!

Thanks carrythebanner, I'll do that :D

There is a sound selection part in the command window but I don't think that MSI will respond to that...

No, it does not, so I think that carrythebanner‘s suggestion makes sense.
I already tried everything and the reason I thought there should be this function, is because the loading of the presets is quite quick on my machine
and also because all my Synths and samplers respond to this controller, but being this the case, the expert mode will be the way to do it.

Thanks for your help Dwetmaster
