So here's the deal... I have a dual 1.8 and I decided to go minimal and mobile. I picked up a MacBook but I am still considering upgrading to a MacBook Pro.
Does anyone have any suggestions about which system you prefer? What hard drives to run? What audio interfaces to run?
I have been considering LaCie on Bus 2.0 to keep my FW free for either an Ultralite or Fireface 400. Any thoughts on either?
Also, how does DP 4.6 run on the Duo 2? I will also be running Logic Express 7.2 and Ableton Live.
Any thoughts? Thanks in advanced

4.6 is written for PowerPC only, not intel.paradeatw wrote:Also, how does DP 4.6 run on the Duo 2?
DP 5.1 is written for Intel (as well as PowerPC)
So that is the minimum version you will need to get the full power.
Search the DP board and you will see many who are delighted with DP 5.1 on core 2 duo imacs (macbook on wheels) and macbooks. I have run DP 5.1 on a core duo 2ish ghz machine and it was similar in feel to me to a mid range dual g5. Others say NO IT IT FASTER.

Thanks for the mention about upgrading to version 5. I realized this just the other day. The new Macbook means I have to buy new DP, Adobe and Live. Yikes!emulatorloo wrote:4.6 is written for PowerPC only, not intel.paradeatw wrote:Also, how does DP 4.6 run on the Duo 2?
