Convertor Operating Level

Post by guy_who_invented_fire »

I have a motu 24i and 2408mkII with a PCI 324 card. I'm wondering if there is a way to adjust the operating levels of the convertor boxes. I just tracked some drums with the pres padded down and found that my levels were so hot going into the convertor I had to use a limiter on them to keep from clipping.

Any suggestions?

If your converters are already set to +4 and not -10, your next option could be an inline pad (XLR style on mic cables).

Hey, guy_who_invented_fire, Welcome to UnicorNation!

You might want to check the internal jumper settings in the MkII unit.
If they're in the "-10" position, it's a no-brainer; flick 'em to "+4".

Again, welcome, and have fun!
