828 / mac pro

Post by lorbi »

hi eeverybody

it hapens that the interface 828 (old) "give up" wthout any reason....

i'm sending out some sounds (Max-msp or Logic, for exemple) and without warning the interface cut everything.

i can see te sound in te computer, but no lights on the interface..

there are some problems with the drivers UB for the MOTU 828 first version?

thank you

I get this at startup sometimes.

My workaround is changing clock back and forth to another valid source.
i.e.
no sound at startup with clock on "internal"
I change source to "spdif" (it recieves my Yam 01v)
change again to "internal" : et voilà.

Did you blow a fuse in the 828? Is there any power indication at all?

Motu better fix their •••• someday so that they don't loose their customer base (they already don't answer the goddam phone, EVER!).

So yes, I'm having the same problem as well - but only since I upgraded from my Powerbook PowerPC to a lovely Intel Quad w/ 4 gigs ram.
