24 I/O not seen by PCI or PCI-e
"He's dead Jim."
That is what I'm thinking. But if anyone has a bag of dried chicken bones I can shake over my 24 I/O to make it visible again, that would be great.
I'm pretty sure the audiowire connection is not working on the 24 I/O. As I mentioned in the subject I have two cards, two systems I can use the 24 I/O with and neither will see it. I can get clock to it via my UA 2192, but if I turn that off, then it goes into clock searching mode, blinking 44.1.
If repair is the option, does anyone have a rough or exact $ amount for the repair with MOTU?
Thanks in advance,
MB1010

Before pronouncing the corpse, try a known good firewire cable in place of the one you've been using.

Yaay! A fellow primate!
I love it! Go Monkey Boy!
Welcome to da Nation, dude.
Just reading your post with interest, as a 24I/O or two could be in my near future.
Sorry I've got nothin' for ya.
Nothing ventured...

Thanks for the response, I had tried that along with the voltage switch being flipped back and forth. Still nothing. So I hope that MOTU can give me word on repairs for this unit.Larry Sheehan wrote:Before pronouncing the corpse, try a known good firewire cable in place of the one you've been using.

Cool! Great news at last for the young monkey.monkeyboy1010 wrote:All went well... got a a replacement unit from MOTU and all is working fine. I have the PCI-e card setup in my MacPro and can use it from either OS (Mac 10.4.8 and XP Pro)
It's a relief to see the Mac Pro running the 424e card and 24I/O just fine.
Now I know it can be done, and that sure helps.
The two most popular OSs, hey? Sounds cool.
It was a Pleasure, dude.monkeyboy1010 wrote:Thanks for the prayers both human and primate.
