OK, as you were all so great with the last question, here‘s another! How do you convert MIDI tracks to audio tracks? I‘ve got two tracks using the Apple Software Synth in amongst other audio tracks. Any suggestions extremely gratefully received!

1st Method
Create an Apple DLS Instrument Track
Assign your MIDI Tracks to it with the Device Remap command
Select your MIDI material AND the DLS Instrument track
Choose Audio - Freeze Selected Tracks
2nd Method
Create an Apple DLS Instrument Track
Assign your MIDI Tracks to it with the Device Remap command
Assign the DLS Track to a Bus
Create an audio track with that same bus as the input.
Hit Record.
There might be other method but I usually do it it with the second one.

I‘ve nearly got it. Using the second method. It records the MIDI track onto the audio track. But only with a normal piano sound - I‘ve lost the MIDI sound I‘d selected.
I think the problem might be when I assign the MIDI track to it with the Device Remap command - perhaps I don‘t really know how to do this! What I did on the MIDI track was deselect the Apple Software Synth and select DLS MusicDevice 1 from the drop down list (middle top) under the track name. But that loses the MIDI sound I‘d chosen.
Sorry to be a pain, could you send the instructions again with a little bit of extra info for dummies?! I‘m really new to this.
Thanks so much for you help this far!

No you're right about everything. The only thing that's left is that you have to enter your program change inside the track instead of only on the T.O. When dealing with GM, take the habit of ALWAYS entering your program changes in the Event of every track instead of in the the T.O.'s program change section. That way if you export your MIDI file everything will sound the way you wanted. Now when you record everything should be fine.

Oh dear, that all went way above my head. I was quite optimistic when I first read it! I‘m stuck with 'inside the track'... I guess the 'T.O'. is the drop down box I used to change stuff. But where is the event of the track? I found the drop down box bottom left under the track name but it just doesn‘t make much sense-
Think I need to study this some more!
Thanks
