Control Surface for DP

Post by waxman »

Some of you were waiting for a new control surface I was mentioning. I have since gone to the Mackie Pro and 3 extentions. However keep your eyes open because Euponix and Apogee are in association. Some of the guys from Euponix have gone over to UAudio. I purchased their DCS and it is one of the best values or combo equipment to date. This added to a control surface will be a very powerful piece. Reference some of the reviews on the DCS. Hopefully by this Namm...

Sounds nice, do you know how much?

I've got a Tascam FW 1082 which I love for just having a few faders to grab. The converters sound ok but I'm sure Apogee's would be great!

Hey Waxman

how do you find the mackie?
Creativity, some digital stuff and analogue things that go boom. crackle, bits of wood with strings on them that go twang

I got a Tascam 1082 also. I got it on EBAY for a few hundred. It works pretty good. I have to use the Mackie emulation mode to get it working right though

The Mackie Universal Pros are working well but it is over priced at about $100 bucks a fader for 24 fader. I just wish they would add something like their big knob to it and a simple insert with level control for a analog channel strip of your choice...

All the little sattelite controls scattered around the work area are lame. I am used to using consoles where everthing is there.

So the DCS helps a bit... but I hope Euphonix, UA, Apogee or one of these guys gets on the stick.

The product needed is a USB controller (not firewire)... with a simple channel strip insert and speaker monitor management.

Is that so hard?

What about frontierdesign Alpha Track? It is the only one with touch sensitive
Knobs. It is intuitive and integrates seamlessly with DP. Did anyone test it?
