Audio Units v3?

Post by Prime Mover »

I'm noticing more talk of Audio Units v3 becoming a standard since it's supported by iOS. But I know virtually nothing about it. I'm guessing it's not supported in DP9, being older than the standard itself. Is there any chance of it being adopted in DP10, or like VST3, is it license prohibitive?

Audio Units Extensions (or AUv3) is available to devs in iOS9 and OSX 10. It allows for multipart MIDI, among other things. Here's a presentation from the WWDC on the subject.

There's a developer's kit available by download from Apple's page, so I don't think there's any license problem... just stick this code in there, and rock.
