Thanks MOTU!

Post by Morpheo »

Since installing DP 9.13, it asks for activation again... Well, no biggie right? Let's check my serial number overt at motu.com and quickly fill these entries... Oops, looks like I've forgotten my password... Well, no biggie.....right? Let's ask for a reset...

...

...hm, still no email from MOTU to reset my password... Odd...(quick look at my junk mail just in case.......nope, nothing there either!) Let's do it again...

...

...okay 3rd time the charm, so here we go!...

...

...well something is definitely wrong here what's the problem, let's ask them directly then and be done with this, I'd like to open DP please goddammit!...*cough*... ok calm down and type your message idiot! ...Done! Sent! Yay!

...

NO email confirmation from MOTU.
NO reply whatsoever, NOTHING.
And this was LAST WEEK!

Now, fortunately I don't use DP these days (for a number of reasons), but I still own it and I still want to activate and open 9.13! I can't believe I can't even get an answer for something so trivial, this is ridiculous!

So thank you so much MOTU for your amazing support on this complicated matter.

I ONLY call them on the phone. Great crew there.
I'm sure they'd like to know if their password reset function is broken. Soon.

Sorry that you're having issues!

Mine re-activated online when I switched out my CPU and also when I tried it on another Sierra startup disk.

But this was a few months ago and I don't recall if I had to enter a MOTU password.

Hope you get it straightened out!

Besides your password, your name and email address have to be spelled exactly the way you registered it at motu.com. The activation code uses dashes—it doesn't accept minus signs.

All of these have tripped me up at one time or another. I keep a text doc of such info for various apps.

Even more strange is that I asked for my username as well, just to make sure my email address registered at MOTU was the correct one. I got a response instantly!

But trying to reset my password is a whole other type of challenge apparently...I guess I'll have to call them directly, but emails would be a lot cheaper!

On the MOTU.com website, right below the Log In button, there are 2 links for...

"Forgot your username?"

"Forgot your password?"

Did those not work?

Like I said above, "forgot your username" worked. I got a response less than a minute later.
"Forgot your password" is a no-go. Asked 3 times.

Oops!

I think I was unknowingly posting at the same time or a minute or so after your follow up so I didn't see that.

Since this is something of a "gripe" about MOTUs website, I'm moving it to the OT forum.

Thanks Dave, I'm sending you an email. But I did send a message via the support page. Anyways I'm sure we'll sort this out now.

Dave was very helpful to me a few weeks ago when I asked to upgrade my 32 bit MSI to the 64 bit UVI MSI. He responded 2x in an afternoon within an hour or so about an iLok issue I had.....
