So sad. I met him through Mark Norton (aka Mark
St. John, he was in Kiss for about a year). Mark
was the guitar player in my 1983--84 Garden Grove, California
cover band Front Page. He and Alan were friends.
Alan used to come watch us play. I also saw
him at Mark's apartment a few times.

Yes, he was a great guitar player and nice guy.
I dont think his health was ever all that good.
He seemed to have a frail constitution.

I only found out through another forum earlier today, and STILL can't find any obituaries -- just a message of love from his family that a few people have cut/paste as screen shots in forum postings.

Yes, he did seem to have frail health, so maybe 70 was a lucky age for him to live to. I have only heard good things about him from others who worked with him as well. Sad to see him go.

Got to see him perform with Soft Machine at Progman Cometh in Seattle in 2002. I played in a band on that stage earlier (much earlier) in the afternoon.

Wonderful player with a utterly unique sound, even though he used standard tuning, you wouldn't know it from hearing him play. I learned about him through our band's guitarist who-- though no slouch himself-- idolized Holdworth and was a pie-eyed fanboy in his presence.

Devastated and Inconsolable. He is just about everything to me as a guitarist and musician. I met him in 83 on his I.O.U tour. Was just listening to an Alan Pasqua tune when I found out about Allan. Sick to my stomach. J
