Hi, guys!

Post by FMiguelez »

Hola a todos!
It's been a while since I last posted here...

I get this Anti-Facebook and anti internet thing like once or twice a year. I hate it then I tolerate it again, depending on the season and my mood. And then it goes away. And comes back with a vengeance, jajajajaja.

Let's see how long it goes this time. Anyway, I can definitely say I missed this place. Can't say the same about FB yet... (No comparison) :)

Welcome back! And a quick thanks to James Steele for providing a safe, classy place here that is a welcome relief from the vast, deep river of sewage the internet can become.

Yes. This place really is a safe haven from what I dislike the most from the internet.

I suppose I got burnt-out and tired from my regular online debates. I used to enjoy it enormously, and suddenly, I just got tired of the whole thing....

What amazes me is how much I actually got done with all this extra time in my hands!
Besides, I'm a composer, not a professional debater. I still love science, but I realized my time on Earth is better spent on things other than trying to change peoples' minds. What a revelation,
Ok. At least for now...

Honest, now - How many times did you actually succeed?

Huh? They actually convinced me! Nah, just kidding!!

Not many, but I did get a few. One particular case was actually spectacular.

It's too rare to find someone who dares questioning things and risk losing their heavily emotional investments.
So let me put it this way: If I attempted to make a living out of that, I would have starved to death already.
I even came close to having my own national radio program devoted to that... I might do it in the future, if it's that format, but I do have safety concerns about it, so I don't know....

Bottom line:
Arguing with random internet people It's mostly and generally not worth it. What a discovery, isn't it? :shake:

So to satisfy my need of science and knowledge, I'm opting for simply reading relevant fora, taking online classes, and reading books. That way I don't get ulcers, jajajajaj

Yes, welcome back. We've certainly missed your presence here FM.

As far as debate and discussion, I find it much more rewarding when done in person with good friends.

Bonus: cervesas can be shared!
