Major degradation in latest Kontakt release (v5.6.5)?

Post by mhschmieder »

What were they thinking?

The latest Kontakt update (v5.6.5) replaces the deterministic sample load feature that is shown within the GUI of the loaded library, with a non-deterministic back-and-forth "progress" indicator in a blank white window, that might as well be the spinning beach ball of death!

How are we to know when there's a problem of some sort?

I don't know whether it takes way longer to load now (many minutes), or if that's just a natural psychological reaction to "no feedback".

UPDATE: This isn't happening for every library, but I don't have time right now to ascertain a pattern. It could be certain vendors or products, ones registered recently and/or ones bought recently. I'll try to keep my eye on which libraries do it and which don't.
