You can lead a horse to water, but you can't always turn him around to drink.

Re: Falcon 1.2 released
So, is this rapidly becoming one of THE must-have synths? It seems incredibly powerful.

You can't always lead a horse to water, but you *can* always make him drink with the right bartender!
So, Falcon. Hmm. I'm thinking about it and the holidays are on the way.

Hi Frodo,
Falcon is really awesome(from my limited use) & I think it's currently on sale.
Also here's a new dedicated, unofficial Falcon forum Simon Stockhausen is hosting:

Re: Falcon 1.2 released
I still don't see significant advantages over Mach5. And IF MOTU updates M5 it should cage (or garage - depending on your pursuation) that Falcon. In the mean time, M5 is doing just fine.
Re: Falcon 1.2 released
MLC,sumptin to consider.
From my viewpoint..........
*speculation*
If M5 was a UVI product that they licensed & created for Motu and the partnership ended, how likely is it that Motu will ever update Mach5?
Does Motu have the right to update or rewrite a UVI product and code?
You can load all of the M5 libraries into Falcon.
Newer UVI and Falcon libraries from my understanding will not work in M5,I hardly used M5 but I suspect UVI/Falcon might now have additional capabilities beyond M5.
Presently developers are making libraries for Falcon, some developers are moving to Falcon and leaving the Kontakt platform entirely.
Reasons seem to range from developers not enjoying the cost of doing business w/ N.I. and advantages of the Falcon platform & capabilities over Kontakt.
3rd party developers like Patchpool/Stockhausen,Acousticsamples, Gospel Musicians, VI Labs and Virharmonic are now making libraries for Falcon.
Neo Soul Keys by Gospel Musicians which is a very good Rhodes library is now going w/UVI.........btw VSTBuzz has it on sale now for 69 Euros.
The initial thread on KVR is at 256 pages and almost 4000 posts so yes a few users have embraced Falcon
There's even a dedicated forum for Falcon users now.
http://falcontinuum.com/
A scripting community similar to the Kontakt scripting community is developing. Companies are starting to offer newer libraries with more capabilities potentially,Virharmonic is utilizing the scripting for the Bohemian series.
With UVI offering the $179 sale price combined with the $100 voucher towards another library, for me the cross grade was a great deal(at the time I did it there was an additional $30 discount for M5 owners).
Yeah Mach5 was a great product and it still works but imo Falcon on sale for $179 with a $100 voucher is a really nice way to make the transition.
I know you love Mach 5 but at sump point many users have come to the conclusion that moving forward they'll go with Falcon.

Re: Falcon 1.2 released
Thanks for the info, kgdrum. I do not own Mach5, but it is on the strength of its loyal user base here that I am looking at Falcon now.
I do not see it at a sale price anywhere for new users - I am assuming you are describing an crossgrade rate.

Re: Falcon 1.2 released
$179 is the crossgrade price offered to MachFive 3 users. We had to register with UVI to be able to use some of the included libraries.
This latest offer is good through October 16, 2016.
