You can buy a Verizon version of the 6s at the new, lower, correct price from Apple, either outright or installments including an annual trade up plan.HCMarkus wrote:Thanks kg! Nonsense. Of course it will—ok, it should. But don't worry, I will be trying it out as soon as I get mine.MIDI Life Crisis wrote: Still doesn't get audio into my mixing board...
I use my iPad as a performing instrument. Since the headphone jack on my Air is broken (again), I've kept my 1st gen iPad. I will plug that dongle into my iPad Air to see if I get audio to my mixer.
As soon as that Belkin adapter is out, I will see if it works with my Line 6 keyboard (normally, Lightening in, audio out through the headphone jack). I will report success or failure—I see no reason for it not to be successful, however.
The idea of leaving the dongle permanently attached to a 1/8" stereo plug just doesn't bother me—not going to get lost there.

Re: Anyone planning to bite on the iPhone 7 or 7+ ?
Oh yea, when my 5s was stolen in JFK last summer, it cost me a $100 deductible to replace it. That's about the price of having the battery replaced. It was nice to have full battery life again.. . . After all, batteries get tired.

Yeah Apple has a better price for the 6 but afaik Apple is not going to offer the $650 credit with the iPhone 6 trade in(great marketing incentive) like what's on the table for the 7.........

Re: Anyone planning to bite on the iPhone 7 or 7+ ?
Well last January I got the 6s+ and I use the headphone jack a lot.
I do construction work, and listen to streaming radio or podcasts all the time.
I also have a Mophi charging case for the phone, this requires an adapter for the headphones. So to use the iphone plugged in, using the headphone jack with the Mophi case it would take no less than three adapters to make this work.... I'm gonna stick with the 6S+ until it's completely obsolete.

You may be right. I wouldn't go jogging or bike riding with wireless ear buds.Michael Canavan wrote:Well last January I got the 6s+ and I use the headphone jack a lot.

Smart battery cases for the 7 have been announced. I imagine someone will figure this out without having to go wireless—or not.

All of which to me begs the question: Has Apple finally produced a phone that is smarter than humans?
Sorry... just could not resist!

The $650 credit explained a little better. Nothing we don't know but still...
http://www.cnet.com/news/iphone-7-for-f ... e-a-catch/
My 5s was the premium phone when I bought it and it's paid off a few months now. My 128G 7+ is going to cost $3 per month more and I can sell the old one on eBay. I can live with that.

Re: Anyone planning to bite on the iPhone 7 or 7+ ?
After several years of using Android phones, my overheating, laggy mess of a Galaxy s6 has me wanting to run back to the loving bosom of Apple.
I'm looking for a phone that's reliable (i need to use navigation a lot for work), doesn't tend to overheat or lag, and ideally is fairly rugged. I'd play a few games and watch a bit of netflix on my phone while travelling, but it'll mostly be used as a phone/navigation.
I've been looking at the 6 Plus, but don't have any direct experience with it as everyone I know has the smaller model. My main concern is that I can't afford to buy a phone outright at the moment, so I'll be on a 2 year contract. Obviously I don't have a burning need for the latest technology, but I do worry about a loss of support/necessary updates etc that will make me regret my choice in a year or so. Like I said I've been away from Apple for about 5 years now so I don't know what support for older phones is like now. If I would buy used, it would probably be here https://www.getorchard.com/us/iphone-6-Plus-for-sale/ but also welcome to any other suggestions.
Many thanks for any insight!

Re: Anyone planning to bite on the iPhone 7 or 7+ ?
FYI, I have an iPhone 5, and iOS10 will support it. Both the 6s/Plus and the iPhone SE are current products that you can buy from Apple, so those will be supported for quite some time (as will the iPhone 7).davidrsl wrote: I've been looking at the 6 Plus, but don't have any direct experience with it as everyone I know has the smaller model.
