Well, I wonder about the issue of web forums versus Facebook. Randy Knaub, who is a buddy of mine, started a Digital Performer Facebook group, and I think since a lot of people are already on Facebook a certain amount of time per day, that can be appealing. The initial post to a Facebook group is like creating a topic here, and then the comments become the "thread". You get notifications when someone else has commented via Facebook, etc.
I hope Radio Gal is OK. I miss her presence here too.
Yep... it's nice to have the ladies participate here, like Babz and Trish (Radio Gal). It's one of the reasons I try to keep an eye out for discussions where someone makes a joke, but it might contain innuendo. I think sometimes we just forget that we're in "mixed company".

I really dislike Facebook for anything else except "light chatter".
Its format is useless for serious discussions i.e., no quoting facilities, no bold or italics, conversations burried within answers, almost useless search functions.
For serious stuff, like DP-talk or science, I prefer to stick to fora like MOTUNation.

It's certainly not conducive to technical stuff like we discuss here. At best I'll post a software update for my friends who care about such things, otherwise we're bashing the politics and religious beliefs we don't agree with, posting pictures of cats and our last supper, and finding out how much our friends from high school have changed. That kind of stuff... I only have one friend from high school on Motunation and he hasn't changed at all since high school. Man, at least change your shirt!

I can attest to James' benevolence. I'm still here right?
Sometimes we all get busy and have no real issues and seem to disappear. Unfortunately, it often takes problems to make people come around which makes the app look like it's all problems, one of the downsides of forums like this

Patricia V has become highly successful in a second career as a certified fitness instructor. She's teaching spin and trampoline classes, and rides her bike competitively. I know she still works in the studio, but the majority of her time is spent exhorting people to sweat.
