Those guys are so funny. They take musician stereotypes and apply them to various cultural stereotypes, and the gags couldn't be funnier. Well, they probably ARE funnier to musicians, who know the player stereotypes so well. But I think those are implied in the comedy as well, so that the musical layman (does that actually exist?) would get it, too. I mean, even carpet salesmen and the guy who drives that little tractor that goes around the course scooping up golf balls all played in a band at some point, or they know someone who does, or dance regularly at a place where a band plays. Right? Well, it doesn't matter. If you can't find something to laugh about when these guys are playing, then laugh at yourself! The joke would be on you. We're all in this world together; band players, sniveling bureaucrats, mobster heavies, and rejected wannabes. There's something funny about each of us, intended or not, and my guess it that these guys know it and never fail to exploit it.

This is kind of cool:

We've seen this sort of thing before as a CGI video trying to pass as real, but I get the feeling this one is legit.

There is a whole 'making of' series for it. Definitely legit.

I left a whole thread about this here in the off-topic forum. "Guy and a music box." It's very legit!

Well I always need dough, but the green kind.

I use to be the cook in the family, but now my daughter is studying cooking and she's been teaching me a thing or two. She's currently working at two different restaurants. Sous-chef at one. I think she's gonna turn out OK.

There's not much that I don't like when it comes to food, but my mortal enemies are dill and fennel.

I know what you're going to say, "Phil you're supposed to be positive."

OK. I'm positive I hate dill and fennel!

On a positive note (how's that for on-topic?) I've had a very nice exchange with tech support at MOTU on a TechLink. In years past I've experienced slow responses, lack of understanding of the problem, unprofessionalism, etc. It seems MOTU has really cleaned up their act on the tech support end of things - professional, courteous and knowledgeable. Overall it's been a "positive" experience. Yay!! :D
