Cheers,
BK

…string theory says that all subatomic particles of the universe are nothing but musical notes. A, B-flat, C-sharp, correspond to electrons, neutrinos, quarks, and what have you. Therefore, physics is nothing but the laws of harmony of these strings. Chemistry is nothing but the melodies we can play on these strings. The universe is a symphony of strings and the mind of God… it is cosmic music resonating through 11 dimensional hyperspace.

Such an icon. An inspiration to so many, and an innovator at the highest level like Les Paul and others who will never be forgotten. Also a gentleman, and someone who lived a good life and outlived most of his peers. Sad to see him go, but at least he didn't die young like so many.

In descending order of completeness and reporting quality, here are a few more obits that I found fairly quickly just now, but there are probably some better one still, at music/art-specific sites.

http://www.nytimes.com/2016/06/28/arts/ ... .html?_r=0

http://www.commercialappeal.com/news/ob ... 74031.html

http://variety.com/2016/music/news/scot ... 201805414/

I generally consider it more tasteful and respectful when an obituary covers someone's entire life and/or career vs. the highlight years of peak fame. That's why the ones above caught my attention.

The ones from the CBC and ABC are below, are thorough, but focused on the early years:

http://abcnews.go.com/Entertainment/wir ... 4-40208924

http://www.cbc.ca/news/arts/scotty-moor ... -1.3657336

I think we'll see more in the morning; many major sites (such as BBC) have nothing so far, and even what was linked above probably was prepared in advance and rushed out, as placeholder obits are often written for major stars "just in case".

I just read the Rolling Stone obit linked above, and it's chronologically balanced, which is good, but not very detailed overall. Maybe theirs will be fleshed out in the morning as well.

Wow. There's a name I've heard all my life. Never met him, though, at least not that I can remember, but I've heard his playing since my first records. What a musician!

RIP, Mr. Moore.
