Re: Bernie Worrell RIP
Thanks for letting us know. He was a really cool guy, and a real envelope pusher.

Great player, and his unexpected addition to Talking Heads was a marriage made in Heaven, bringing the best out of everyone involved. I know it may not be considered his career highlight for many, but for me it is, simply because it felt like his creative input was at its most unrestrained.

Anyone who's not seen "Stop Making Sense" should probably stop whatever they're doing and seek it out.mhschmieder wrote:Great player, and his unexpected addition to Talking Heads was a marriage made in Heaven

Re: Bernie Worrell RIP
My brother felt compelled to write an official bio this morning as much of the news media is getting important details wrong. Normally NEC no longer posts obits for its alumni, but they take exception when mainstream coverage isn't doing a good job.

The obit is very short (par the official rules), but I always enjoy seeing facsimiles of student concert programs:

Who doesn't wish there was a recording of him tackling Mr. Beethoven on piano?
