That wasn't directed at you, CT. I was commenting on the skit, not on your posting of it. Didn't mean to come across as confrontational. Sorry. Please do post at will.
(But the skit did suck. 8) C'mon, you know it did.)

I think the production value wasn't necessarily cheesy on purpose. This was standard def and they referred to Gerald Ford as "current" president. The CG (aka "chyron") looks pretty much like it would have in 1975.

Well, it certainly followed Weird Al's dictum to "Dare to be Stupid!".

At the risk of trying to explain the joke, Adult Swim's target audience is generally aimed at millennial stoners in the wee small hours of the AM on the brink of consciousness. In this regard, I thought it overshot its audience so far as to add a whole new level of irony. AS's audience probably had no idea who or what was even being spoofed. Perhaps I've over thought this. Humor is just about the most subjective thing I can think of.

Besides, I thought I'd link to it before Wendy Carlos' (who is notoriously litigious, BTW) lawyers were consulted and it disappeared from the web entirely. It might have worked better with Jean Michel Jarre or Isao Tomita (RIP).

What a coincidence! I work at Understanding Our Comets, and I'm pretty sure this video is working against all the progress we've made.

I'm one of the easiest rooms I've ever been today, so it's tough to judge objectively...

Gosh darn it, I'm gonna go with a 7.5.

Moroder's signature arp / sequencing alone just about did it for me. He's still getting mileage out of it to this day, playin' late-night DJ gigs 'n all.

Vangelis' pads played as if there were nothing grander in the universe. Carlos' obsessive modular patching... c'mon guys, they pretty much nailed it, didn't they?

Good music does not always make good satire.
