Interesting Cursor Locater

Post by Shooshie »

The other day I was looking for my cursor, which tends to get lost in some apps, at some times, especially on a large monitor, and out of frustration I started shaking it back and forth very rapidly. When I did, the cursor appeared, about 3 times larger than usual. It was easy to find!

Now, rather than get frustrated, I've just gotten into the habit of shaking it back and forth rapidly. In my case, that means about half the width of the Magic Trackpad. The question I have: where is this coming from? Is this an OS thing? Is it some app or terminal command or utility or ??? that I installed long ago, then forgot about? Or is it just an El Capitan feature? How long has this been there?

Imagine my surprise when I was wishing for the cursor to show itself, and it did!

Just for the record, the tempo at which a complete cycle (back and forth) of the cursor consistently changes it to a giant cursor is around 126 bpm or faster.

Using three monitors, I find this most useful. You can also change the basic size of the cursor.

That IS a cool feature! Since I run DP under Mountain Lion, I just amped up the curser size permanently.
