RIP George Martin
Follow link to an amazing doco on the making of the In My Life Album with loads of George explaining everything beautifully - what a genius - he will be sadly missed.

In so many ways, I feel that George Martin was godfather to us all. R.I.P.

Re: RIP George Martin
Very saddened by the news. The ephemeral age of the music revolution is dwindling through attrition. Martin was one of the biggest influences on music in the modern age. He was the "can do" guy behind so much great music.
But words can do nothing for George Martin. It's like telling someone about the sun and moon and air.
Rest in Peace GM. You deserve peace if anyone does.

Re: RIP George Martin
So sorry to hear this. I was fortunate enough to see him speak briefly once here in LA (Guitar Center in Hollywood inducted him into their "Walk of Fame" many years ago). It was almost humorous, because he said at one point in his acceptance speech "Well, I really don't deserve this...", but of course, every one present knew he certainly did.

You were one of the first thoughts I had after hearing the news, Fwoggy. I know how much the Fab Six meant to you. At least, I can try to imagine.Frodo wrote:Sad day. Sad year so far with the loss of so many musical heroes.

Such a thoroughly-decent man. This means as much to me as anything.
