Apple Music Memos app - cool songwriter tool

Now here's an app that I read about and instantly bought. It's Apple's Music Memos app and it
works like Voice Memos does, except that after you record, it analyzes your recording (tempo and key and rhythm) and generates a bass and drums backup for what you played.

I use Voice Memos all the time to quickly get song ideas down before I forget them. This app takes that to another level. Yes, it can still produce backing tracks that are train wrecks, but I expected that. I find it pretty amazing, nonetheless - quite a job of detection it does there. And you can export the audio and backing tracks to Garage Band as well.

It won't run on an iPad 2. The obsolescence factor is finally beginning to creep up on that model.

It turns out that the 10.2.1 update of Logic Pro can import Music Memo tempo maps. That can in turn be exported from Logic as MIDI files to other applications.

It's totally awesome. Best solution I've seen for something I've dreamed of all my life. Export to GarageBand adds even more options -- the new update to iOS GB is awesome too!

I just wish Music Memos would let you record more than a single track.
