I agree on all points,,,
pathetic though that Melodyne STILL can not color the pitch blobs to a different color if they have been altered in any way.... Like DP does and always has. Melodyne also does not allow the use of a pencil tool to draw vibrato.

I wouldn't call it pathetic but, with multitrack editing especially, this would be a most welcome feature.
Melodyne also does not allow the use of a pencil tool to draw vibrato.
Not a feature I would ever use but it might be interesting, I suppose. Does Autotune do that (haven't fired up my copy ot AT 7 in years and saw no reason to go to 8)?

I never had interest in Autotune so I don't know :)

Having the ability to alter the vibrato like DP does, (pencil tool) is critically important if you are ever time stretcing a vocal.

Any update as to the opinion between editor and the studio upgrade? I almost pulled the trigger in the editor and vaguely remembered this thread. Not sure I need it at this point. I have the previous version. It seems to be 64 bit, which is what I need. I'd like done if the improved features but I don't need it at the moment and $149 is slightly more than I want to spend.

personally, the version I had before this update did everything I need, I find that the videos about the "Sound Editor" are fascinating, but they are completely useless to me after experimenting with them myself. If I were you I would save the 149 bucks.

Henry, the AudioDeluxe price is still $125.99 from Editor to Studio. You have to log in or create an account to see the price. The current coupon is MARCHDEAL
https://audiodeluxe.com/

The additional features in the Studio version include time stretch, multitrack editing and tempo match. I'm using the multitrack editing to fix a project I did in 1991. There are those users who are loving the tempo match. Perhaps it is functionality you'll never need. I'm using Melodyne Studio 4 and Ozone Advanced to revisit analog projects in ways that I never dreamed possible.

Someday, we'll have to compare notes on what it was like to grow up as a musician in Sacto.

Well now you make it sound interesting. I'll look into it more carefully. I do have a bunch of old adat tapes I might do something with.

Sacramento huh? When were you here? It's was pretty good for me.
