DA-38
To avoid doing any real work, I dug out my old DA-38 from the laundry room (I know, there is no worse place to store equipment) and recorded some acoustic guitar. It still works. It's only 16 bits (18 bit converted) but it sounds so good. I'd forgotten. Now permanently in my setup for tracking anything acoustic, and for general D/A, attached to an ancient 2408 for digital transfer.

I'll be using mine a fair bit now. I got a new arch top acoustic, and tried recording it with a lot of different mics through four interfaces into DP and Logic, and it didn't sound right. Into the DA-38 and it sounds just right. I don't know why.
