Magix Samplitude (mastering program) on sale this month
Just got the notice from Florida Music that Magix Samplitude is on sale this month due to their anniversary. The savings are quite steep (> 50%).
I've been considering it for some time, and this is the push I needed.
Given the trials and tribulations of Triumph, and the stubborn 32-but-ness of most of the others (as well as WaveLab on the Mac still not quite being the confidence builder I need for long-term adoption, but that could change as it is certainly getting better and stabler and more full-featured as well), this looks like the best bet going forward, for the Mac platform.
Good crew too; I've spoken to them several times at technical conferences (and they're local, which helps). I like their approach, and also they probably have done the most thorough job of anyone when it comes to supporting surround sound mastering (though I still don't have a personal need for that).

I thought Samplitude was DAW. Is there is 2 track version? And isn't it Windows only?

Me too. They worked on Mac version for quite a while, then abandoned it.billf wrote:I thought it was a Windows specific application?mhschmieder wrote:this looks like the best bet going forward, for the Mac platform.

Really? Do you have a link to a Mac version for this product. Everywhere I look, it's Windows only. What did I miss?this looks like the best bet going forward, for the Mac platform.

As for mastering, DDP should be supported and I see no mention of that anywhere.

From Magix site: "Due to our planned product strategy and changes in the market environment, we have decided to discontinue the development of the Samplitude Mac version."
Thought by some to result from pricing of Logic X at $199.

There was some shared code/intellectual property between Emagic and Magix over a decade ago, so I'm not surprised.bayswater wrote:From Magix site: "Due to our planned product strategy and changes in the market environment, we have decided to discontinue the development of the Samplitude Mac version."

Re: Magix Samplitude (mastering program) on sale this month
That's what I get for writing this from work. There are two companies that I constantly confuse, and this must be the OTHER company because the one I'm thinking of is more Mac than Windows and is San Francisco based.
Too late to delete, now that there are so many replies. When I get home, I'll dig out my notes to remind of the mastering program I was thinking about. There are far too many companies/products with similar names, for sure!

Re: Magix Samplitude (mastering program) on sale this month
Sonic Studio SoundBlade is the mastering app for the Mac.
The company I most often confuse with Magix Samplitude is SampleMagic, and of course Samplitude itself confuses me with IK Multimedia's AmpliTube.
Sonic Studio is in Marin County (though apparently they also have offices in San Francisco).
Magix is in Germany.
