A screeching halt changes everything.
10.10.1 is the last to show up in my update notifications. Wonder if it's system specific ?

TM has had this crop up for as far back as it has existed. Sometimes it feels like a nut. Sometimes it don't.

Re: It's done. :)
New Year's might not have been the best time to bring that into the house.
Congratulations. Hopefully it will last you a good number of years (and remain current and compatible).

Thanks man. Finally got TM to restore. A few things aren't working right but I have lots of homework to do. And fast!

Sweet!
I really debated on doing the same thing but decided to soup up my old dog instead. You never know how much software you have until you do a fresh install from the ground up on a new SSD drive.
Enjoy the new system!

What are you doing for storage?
I went with a Pegasus R4 and so far it has performed admirably.
Good comparison here of alternatives.

…string theory says that all subatomic particles of the universe are nothing but musical notes. A, B-flat, C-sharp, correspond to electrons, neutrinos, quarks, and what have you. Therefore, physics is nothing but the laws of harmony of these strings. Chemistry is nothing but the melodies we can play on these strings. The universe is a symphony of strings and the mind of God… it is cosmic music resonating through 11 dimensional hyperspace.

Still having issues with the restore from the old HD. TimeMach failed. Cloning with CCC failed (connectivity, I think) and I don't have a TB dock. Good thing the producers are understanding... No place in LA to buy a Pegasus dock AFAIK. Not Melrose Mac, not Fry's, not the Apple store. Getting frantic..

Have you tried Migration Assistant?MIDI Life Crisis wrote:Still having issues with the restore from the old HD. TimeMach failed. When I asked the person at SuperDuper about using SuperDuper for my newer Mac he advised against using SD and advised using Migration Assistant.

Re: It's done. :)
THe main thing is connectivity. The 800FW drive seems to be looking the connection and the Mac is timing out. I'll try a USB3 enclosure next. It's always something! MigAss failed several times. TimeMach did successfully move most stuff, but not enough and failed to recover the plugs and a few apps.
Off to Fry's and then off to OWCs site. Could be worse. I called a rep I used to use at West Lake Pro and got his wife on his cell. He offed himself about a year ago after being in severe pain from next and back surgeries. Suddenly my problem doesn't seem so big.
