cuttime wrote:I'm on 8.0.2 now and nothing too drastic to report. Biggest problems are with 3rd party apps that are very buggy and playing catch up on nearly a daily basis. The most notable one is the DropBox app, which will not read .rtf files any more. And, no, the DP control app still does not work.
I barely use the iPad for anything but mail and web surfing so I guess I should be all right, but like I said 8.0 broke iMessage which was annoying.

I certainly understand why third party stuff creates all kinds of problems, but really, an upgrade fix to a faulty OS, that didnt work very well in the first place, that prevents some iPhones from actually making phone calls? (Isnt that what happened with 8.0.1?) Laughable, really....unless you happen to have installed it on your phone, of course

The copy/paste function is broken in 8.02 on my iPhone. Did a search and it sure is.

Hi MLC,

 I'm on iPhone 4S. My bad for not specifying in my previous post.

Does any one remember the cave-in disaster that was iOS 3.0? How about that antenna kerfuffle? And how about when the first of the Big Cat OS's cacked your Mac but wouldn't access your time Machine backups? Ahhh, good times. Those were "during Steve" and they sucked far worse than this one. Let's not start romanticizing The Good Old Days When Steve Walked The Earth. Apple isn't a best pal or a cult or a paragon of perfection.... It's just a consumer electronics company that has made more hits than strikes.

Thanks, Jim. I couldn't agree more. And damn it, they fix the stuff! We STILL can't say the same for MS.

A good point. Things aren't getting worse. I don't remember all those problems, but I do remember the failing 40Meg drives in the LC, the disintegrating Dual USB iBooks, the 3 click death of the G4 zip drive, the mysterious disappearing G5 Wifi, the yellow band on the 27" iMac, and system drive failure on iMacs. And that's just the hardware side.
