I recently mastered my own album using the latest version of DSP-Q 4 and it worked out great.

I found some bugs but none that prohibited the final redbook product. There are some quirky level indicators on the region meters and the output meters are also incorrect when using master plugs like UAD precission limiter or Waves De'esser which I required on this last album.

The individual region plug inserts do not necessarily come up unity gain but there are adjustments fortunately. The final product though is pretty nice and the cross fades and levels are easy to make and ripple the list when changes are made up front after all tracks are in place.

Each plug, individually is released from ram apparently for the next track which limits the memory required for mastering. This is really nice. In real mastering situations going back to disk mastering, we had double stereo sets of analog EQs, limiters, compressors and filters and they would automatically switch when a band select button was pushed between cuts to the lathe.

Given version 5 is based on this GUI, I'm happy to be an owner at this point and thank Shooshie for the tip. I passed on Sonic Studios app not because it was not a fine sounding app but the price for features were just outrageous and not competitive IMHO.

I recently finished a mastering job in DSPQ4 and it went very smoothly. Nice features for that kind of task.

On a different project, I am trimming a bunch of IR files and needed some functionality for making macros (to make that work a little easier). In short, there were some functions that just didn't work when I tried using QuicKeys to make a shortcut. I wanted to be able to set locate points, so that if I made a selection in one file, I could use a macro to make the same selection in a second file. But I couldn't make it work, and you couldn't enter values into the start & end points.

I emailed the developer, who was very nice about it. He made it sound like he might be able to get a work around going. He never followed up. I reminded a couple times, but it just never went anywhere. I'm not miffed. It was a long-shot anyway.

Same issues it has in Maverics and ML. Some Carbon based plugs don't work (same as DP 7.24). Otherwise, it's fine. 5 will fix that.

Just a quick bump... For some reason DSP Q needed to reauthorize but the license wouldn't work. Emailed Stefano and had a new license in minutes. Working great again.

Great support.
