How To Keep Plugins Organized

Post by bayswater »

The plugin manager added to DP V8 is good for categorizing frequently used plugins and selecting them in the project, but is anything available to just keep track of what plugins you have, what they do, their versions, source, etc.?

I just almost bought a plugin I already had because I forgot I had it. My plugins folder has dozen more I've bought and never used because I forgot I had them, demos I never got around to trying, and freebies that looked useful and got ignored.

Does anyone have a simple way of keeping track, or a utility that helps with this?

The only one I've heard of is one someone posted about a few days ago called Auganizer. I've not tried it yet though.

It only deals with AUs. Since DP 8 (and because I used DSP-Q), I have a lot of VSTs. And there's the MAS stuff too. Nice to keep that in mind when selecting a plugin.
