Hello Motunationers and fellow composers,
---SPOILER : SHAMELESS PLUG---
I just received news this morning that the score for a film I've done with a buddy of mine last year got the top award - The Alex North Award for best original score in a feature film- from the 2014 Tenerife International Film music festival.

---END OF SHAMELESS PLUG---
I was not aware of the existence of this competitive festival devoted entirely to film music. It's the film producers who submitted it. Often those specialized festivals are neglected by the producers who only have a fancy for the four big (Cannes, Venice, Sundance and Berlin) where the music is relegated to the footnotes.
So I encourage every composers to look for those specialized festivals and submit or ask the producers to fill the forms, as those festivals, especially when they are competitives, are a nice recognition for our works.
---ANOTHER SHAMELESS PLUG---
Have a look at the film : http://meetingswithayoungpoet.com
Why not have a listen to the music : https://meetingswithayoungpoet.bandcamp.com
---END OF ANOTHER SHAMELESS PLUG---
Cheers.
The Alex North Award for film music

I can certainly hear why you won! The music is beautiful. It echoes another age without being sappy about it, thus bringing us into that age, making it ours. I like it very much, and it's delightful that you were awarded some recognition for it.
