I was a couple months old. Years ago my friends and fellow fans gave me a life-sized poster of the fab four which is on the wall above my work area. I like that it doesn't symbolize something specific. And for me, it really isn't about their fame. I just think about some creative music that went to surprising places and often deeply beautiful places.

They stumbled almost blindly into a degree of stardom is not fit for humans. I almost think of it as a fascinating, but in some ways unfortunate side-effect of the commercial music industry.

I was negative 2. However, it didn't take long to catch up.

Yikes! I turned 10 a month and a half later.

I was still playing a ukulele left handed but knew I needed to play the guitar. My dad wouldn't let me re-string his so I taught myself to play like all the others.

I don't know if I could have handled Sgt Pepper, Pet Sounds, Jimi Hendrix, Cream, The Doors or The Mothers of Invention before I was 13 or so but that all happened in 1967 and I was ready.

As young musicians, we were the right age at the right time.

I could never have predicted that my children would be listening to the same artists I listed to as a kid.
