iK Multimedia products Mavericks compatiblity

Post by David Polich »

I sent a tech support email to iK Multimedia, asking them if their
products (Amplitube 3, Sample Tank, Sample Moog, etc.) are Mavericks
compatible.

The official reply from them was "no". Here is their reply to my
question, which I received this morning:

Mavericks support is not official yet, so use it at your own risk for now. We will have updates for any issues with the current line of products. Older plugins will not be updated.

We do not recommend using Mavericks for now until official support for it is here.

I'm surprised they were able to interrupt their iPhone/iPad development long enough to write you back! Hehehe

Totally agree. Oh look, it's....another iOS app. (Cue the "sad wah-wah trombone").

I know. I just love busting on them for their emphasis on iOS stuff. It must be doing something for them. I went into the local Guitar Center to get some strings and they had a display of all this iPad stuff. None of that really is all that interesting to me, but, well... somebody must be buying it. :)

Maybe I'm just too old, but doing serious music production on an i-Pad
still strikes me as something of a joke. As in, I know of no one who really
does it. iOS apps have always seemed to be gimmicks to me.

"I'm a guitarist and my entire touring rig is on my i-Pad", said no one ever.

Well, I'm a bassist and my entire performing rig is an iPad.

I can't say I wanted it that way.
