DP "None More Black" Theme

Post by James Steele »

So I am watching "This is Spinal Tap" and finally figured out where that name came from! Nigel says it when they're looking at the pressings of "Smell the Glove" that comes back entirely black because the record company wouldn't print the real cover! :)

If so, it wouldn't surprise me if you were the inspiration for it, James. You put out 11 in 11 not too long before they added themes.

Funny, I love that movie, and that scene in particular. Got the reference as soon as I saw the theme name! :headbang:

Another great line in response to the album cover they submitted of a girl sniffing a glove on all fours with a dog collar on being labeled sexist by their record company.

I used the "None More Black" theme when using DP to run the backtrack on a couple of recent shows. Glad we didn't have any major Spinal Tap moments other than that then! ;)

I think you can only watch Spinal Tap 11 times. It doesn't go to 12.

Marty: It's very pretty.

Nigel: ...baaaa, baaaaa, yeah, just simple lines intertwining,
you know very much like, I'm really influenced by Mozart
and Bach, it's sort of in between those, really, it's
like a Mach piece really, it's...

so so many great scenes in Tap. I always get a laugh out of Rob Reiner in the 'making of' video talking about his other successes such as "Kramer vs. Kramer....vs. Godzilla".
