SOS Awards, Vote

Post by Shooshie »

It's that time of year again, in which we hold faux contests and watch as each forum out in the music world sends its members off to vote for those things which they hold dear. And as silly as it may seem, the Sound On Sound Awards are… well… personal. So, I voted. In fact, I voted in every category in which I had some experience and a belief in some product and company. I voted "none" in those categories where my vote would merely be a guess, or whose products I have no interest in.

Should you vote? Everyone has to confront their own demons. I feel strongly about it.

I think I voted after I hit submit it took me to a terms page so I got no acknowledgement my vote was successful.
I found the categories a little limited.

Bogus, dude.

Website said there was an error in my voting card, i scanned it four times and couldn't find what was supposedly wrong, and it ended up blanking my answers. I don't feel any compulsion to help DP 8 win DAW Of The Year, but one of MY demons is wasting time on badly programmed HTML.

I voted and had no problems. Other than, I was surprised to see so many
older products listed, like BFD2 and Izotope Stutter Edit...these products
were released well before 2013.

Oh well - might be nice to win the drawing.

It doesn't look like there's a way to vote without giving my name, address, email address, etc. to SOS?

Yeah... I'll probably go ahead and do it. I just hate handing out my personal information for all these things. :(

My apologies, guys. It didn't occur to me that the link I copied from my email might have contained a marker to identify ME from the email in order to avoid duplicate votes. Apparently I'm #2014. OH wait… No, that can't be it, because the vote is for publication in 2014. Never mind; scratch that theory.

I don't know WHAT's going on. Maybe they've programmed it to kick out the DP users. Frankly, that's not something I'd put past them. Well, sorry if I wasted anyone's time.

No to both theories. I used the link you posted and had no problems. Probably something as simple as too many users at once on their site. Or maybe it looks at your cookies to see if you have SOS ID.
