I'll say this: If Apple is smart they'd take a page from the iPhone 5c, and offer color options since they were able to do a one-off red for an auction. In fact, I could see them adding choice of color other than black as a $100 upcharge in the configuration menu: I'd think red, blue, chrome, and white would be good starting options.

What I've read is that the 5c isn't selling all that well. Which is a good thing. Maybe then apple will stop this pastel coloured madness that came with iOS7.

Well I was really only bringing up the 5c in terms of the color options... not the cheaper aspect. I knew at the time I posted I probably should clarify, but I didn't and here we are.
