Re: Red Sox tie it up, 2-2!
Oh, yooz guys!!
I peek in quite often, but because I was stuck in DP5.x and Tiger until just this year (!!!!) I'd find that everyone was so far ahead of me that I couldn't really contribute much. Then, there was a rather nasty accident that happened over the summer, and recovery time allowed me to dig into DP8-- and to RTM!!
Life is better now. Football and baseball are great. Wow. DP8 is fantastic.
This place is still cool, as are all of you.
Thanks for being and for still being.
Now. On to Game SIX!!

I'm loving Boston's bearded batsmen. They look like the Amish all- stars!
I live in Boston and have to say this has been a really fun post season. Detroit was an awesome series and this series has offered something for everyone. Obstruction! A pick-off! The awful (for SL) pop fly!
And the Pats are 6-2. Somehow:)
We are the luckiest fan base in the USA!

Re: Red Sox lead 3-2!
Growing up, I was a fan of the Red Sox. Heck, I'd never seen a pro baseball game, and to me all the teams were up for grabs. I wanted to be a catcher like Johnny Bench. I also liked the Yankees, of course, but doesn't everyone? One day I went to a pro game in Houston of the Colt 45's. It was in an open-air stadium — the old kind — and then I fell in love with the actual "being there" part of the game. Hot dogs… beer (though I'd only get to do that years later), Coca Cola, peanuts, Cracker Jacks… and BASEBALL!
Shortly after my Colts 45 game (which they lost), Houston built the Astrodome and the game changed forever. I went to about half a dozen games in the Astrodome, and I don't think the Astros ever won one that I attended. But I never liked that experience. It just wasn't the same as the old spindly open-air stadiums under the big sky. Of course, it rains so much in Houston that the Dome was probably a financial necessity. Lots of Colts games got rained out, and attendance was spotty.
Later, my brother would compete under the Astrodome, and I would even get my turn on the field there a number of times. It was surreal. Can't say I liked anything about it.
But I'm waxing about Baseball, and this thread is about the Red Sox, my old favorite team. They're back in the World Series, and I couldn't be happier about it! Go Sox!

Re: Red Sox lead 3-2!
Being from the Boston area,as a kid I spent may a day in Fenway park. When I was in collage we used to climb the big billboards across the street from the green wall and party watching the sox play. The building they sit on is one floor high, so it is a long climb to the top, climbing down after was a trip! I have a bet with a friend who is a Cardinals fan for dinner on the series.

I thought it was just me-- the beard pulling is just plain odd. I guess if it won't grow out of the top of your head, let it grow out of the bottom of your head!
But-- how 'bout that? Sox take it!

You a Sox fan Phil? LOL! I like the Sox banner you put up James. I have my Sox hat on at work and I am showing all the Card fans; a little rubbing it in never hurt; too much.
