Oh man, and I thought he was doing better.

I just went through a bunch of obits, and most are poorly written, but surprisingly the best one I found is from the Chicago Tribune:

Oh yes! You are so right! I've been seeing all these reviews by people I'd describe as blogger journalists, and you can tell most of them never heard of Lou Reed. Or else they've got a 25 word limit. It's funny; I thought the internet was going to open up everything with unlimited space for articles, comments, etc., but there seems to be a bias against anything of depth. That's probably because with the addition of thousands of things to look at or read each day, you simply have to cut down the time you spend with each one. Lou probably would have had a comment about that, and may actually HAVE written something. I haven't heard his recent stuff.

The Chicago Trib obit is a worthy one. So long, Lou.
