iOS 7
Released today. I'll update in the next few days but thought I'd start a thread in case others want to offer views. Looks like more eye candy but a few interesting new features if you're on an iPhone 5 or better.

Re: iOS 7
Ars Technica has a pretty thorough review. As you say, with an iPhone 5, probably a good thing. With an iPhone 4, it might be better to wait to see if there is an efficiency gain with the first few updates.
I think someone has already mentioned elsewhere that DP control is going to need an update for IOS 7.

That's the sticking point. What will work. What won't. Thanks.

Re: iOS 7
Glad you mentioned DP Control is a no go. I was 10 seconds away from applying the update to my iPad which I use when remotely controlling DP.
Gonna wait a bit to apply it to my 5 until I read a few more reviews.

From this (2):
"the buggiest initial release I've seen from Apple"
That's encouraging. Hope it's not true. Don't see how it could be. But if iOS7 is buggy, what can we expect from OS 10.9?

Re: iOS 7
Another annoying thing is that you need to have iTunes 11 in order to update or sync iOS7.

Re: iOS 7
Oh! Didn't know THAT!
Re: iOS 7
I thought with IOS 6, Apple divorced it from OSX, so it could operate independently of a Mac. You can't just update and sync via an internet connection and iCloud?

Re: iOS 7
Yes, but as I understand it Apple only provides 5gb of free space. If I want to backup my 32gb iPhone and sync to iCloud I'd need to pay $100 a year. That seems like a lot just to not have to run iTunes 11.

Re: iOS 7
You don't have to back up 32G of data for a 32G iPhone. Anything from the Apple store just uses pointers. But you're right, 5G probably isn't going to be enough for a lot of people, even using Match.

Re: iOS 7
In a moment of foolishness I did upgrade my iPad 3 , so can confirm the DP Control app isn't working properly - selecting the Mixer view makes it crash most times. There have also been changes in the way podcasts are listed in iTunes 11.1, but these don't affect me much (I do listen to a lot of podcasts) and otherwise iTunes seems to be working.
In retrospect I would have waited (which I usually do), but most things are working and I do like the new UI - it looks a lot cleaner to me. So holding off, is the sensible choice, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed for early updates.
