Steinberg Notation Program Development

Post by leigh »

It looks like the entire Sibelius team went to Steinberg from Avid and are working on a new notation program. It will be interesting to see if it's tightly integrated with Cubase.

Be sure to read the previous two posts by Daniel. The comments are also interesting.

Sort of old news by now that we've been discussing over in the composing sub-forum, but the link is useful because it has more recent entries than what we had been discussing. The last I had heard, it seemed unlikely we could expect product delivery in less than two years time.

It's good to see that Apple products are being targeted in early development vs. as an afterthought, as Steinberg had always treated us like the bastard child and tended to make us have to set things up like we were on Windows (at least with Cubase a la ASIO pseudo-drivers etc. and WaveLab was less than successful on the Mac).
