Okay, ok. Have to admit that now that I'm permanently on 8.04, I'm digging it
too. Especially not having to worry about whether Omnisphere is going to drag
DP to its knees.

One question - I think I read somewhere that Mountain Lion allows you to install and thus address more than 16GB of RAM. I can actually install up
to 32GB of RAM in my 2010 Quad Mac Pro, but in 10.6.8 the max I can address is
16GB. Is it true ML allows you to install more than the "stated" max RAM in
an older Mac Pro?

Since I seem to be able to easily address more than 16GB on my 2008 MacPro, I'd be surprised if you couldn't on yours.

Snow Leopard has always been 64 bit. It is the 32 bit applications with the memory limits.

Roger that! I didn't even buy Omnisphere until I was all 64-bit (read too much online about performance issues), and it runs just like any other synth... A little fat, maybe, but without a hiccup.

What's confusing is SL allows booting in 32 or 64. ML only boots in 64.

"Will you still need me? Will you feed me? When I'm sixty-four?"

Prophetic.
