Hi All
I need to add another 8 channels to my setup.
Right now its a 2408mk3 & DigimaxFS
I want to add a Digimax D8 but after talking to a couple of friends they make it sound like its not a good Idea with out a Clock Generator.
Can it be done with out a separate Generator?
If not I was looking at a http://www.antelopeaudio.com/SUPPORT/Ma ... AL_PDF.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
And if this is the case can someone explain to me how this is setup.

I've done a little more DD into this and it does look like I need a Clock Generator.
Has anyone had any experience with OCX High Resolution Audio Clock Generator?
I've never heard of this company but a friend tells me that he replaced a Big Ben for one and the OCX was a noticeable improvement.

What I ended up doing here to save some money was pickup a 8pre.
So what I'm hoping and understanding will work is.
Connecting the 2408 and 8pre through the ADAT lightpipe connections.
having the 2408 and 8pre set as slave taking the master clock from the DigimaxFS.
I'm hoping there won't be any clock issues.

I just thought I'd post back if anybody is interested this worked.
The DigimaxFS is set as the Master via wordclock to the 2408mk3,the 2408mk3 and 8Pre are set as external and connected to each other via lightpipe.
The 8Pre is dedicated to a drum kit I recorded 14 tracks about 10 hours yesterday no clicks,pops or cliches.
I know a master clock would improve the clarity but for now this is working fine.
There is one thing that happen and I'm not sure why.
Now when I open a recording done previous to this all the outputs are set to ADAT and I have to change them back to Audio 1-2.
Not sure what I did to make that happen.

Interesting that you got good sync with ADAT. I tried it with a 2048 Mk 2 and 828 Mk3 and I got a constant square wave running about -60db at the input in DP that didn't happen using Wordclock from one to the other.

Yes I'm glad it worked out so well there is on wordclock input on the 8Pre
