***NEW MOTU audio interface to be announced--also DP7.2

Post by BradLyons »

Hey guys...there is a new interface that is going to be publically announced today (should be today, anyway) from MOTU that is cool, REALLY REALLY COOL! IN FACT, I want one for my laptop and I want it now. Click here for a preview, and be sure to check the MOTU site later.

http://www.theaudioprofessional.com/NEW ... _MOTU.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

ALSO....they will be announcing DP7.2 which adds some cool new features including right-click contextual menus, live searching of files, remote control via the iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch among other features...and it's a FREE UPGRADE. Oh the ability to change skins or "themes" is REALLY cool, I must admit the CARBON FIBER preset makes DP look awesome!
Thank you,
Brad Lyons

Thanks for the heads up.

Looks like they may have seen the attention that amplidood and iperformer received with their GUI mods.

Looking forward to reading about the new interface and the 7.2 features.

not sure on the fix....as to the MicroBook, I think it's going to be a huge hit. It's perfect for my laptop when I'm at home just for audio playback. I have the OPTICAL output of my MacPro going into my Central Station's Optical input, so the Coax out of this will be perfect for the Coax input in the Central Station. As to the upgrade, I should have said UPDATE---if you're on DP7 already, DP7.2 is a free update.
Thank you,

Hey Brad, do you have the lottery numbers for the CA lottery this Wednesday? Please PM me (I wouldn't want to create a panic...)

Thanks for the heads up. This looks like it could put MOTU and DP over the top.

My Apogee one has XLR inputs... plus a built in mic to boot. Sorry MOTU but this won't cut it.

It has XLR adaptors. RTF website... LOL!

Oh, and the built in mic is a good one, I'm sure.

Can't agree with you, nr. I think this is going to be big. But feel free to ignore it. :)

By the way yes, the mic is really good! It's smaller than my iPhone. I'm not a fanboy, so I'm just comparing apples to apples here, no harm done.

I have to deal with a lot of consumer-professional audio gear interconnection at work so I love the inclusion of 1/8" and 1/4" connections.

This device would be awesome if you could just plug in two condenser mics for a quick x-y recording. Without the second mic pre, I still vote for spending more on the Ultralite.
