There was a haiku thread a while back (lamenting M5v2's delay). Some of them were pretty clever.

Why not have a haiku contest. Everyone votes on the winning haiku, and the winner gets a free shirt!

Those are lovely -- I had never seen them before.

A great one for all the newbies over in the DP forum:
audio skipping
random beeps clicks and pauses
buffer size too small

Call me old fashioned, but I'd be distressed to see the Unicorn go.
It's part of MOTU's heritage.

Obviously, I'd love a MOTU T-shirt, preferably one with the Unicorn logo front and back.
In fact, a black shirt with the UnicorNation logo, coloured in with the "community" photos James put together, would be quite striking, IMHO.

MOTU DP8.07, MachFive 3.2.1, MIDI Express XT, 24I/O
Novation, Yamaha & Roland Synths, Guitar & Bass, Kemper Rack

Unfortunately, I think it's already gone. However, The Unicorn still lives on the rack ears that come with items such as the MicroLite and UltraLite. I'm not sure about the other stuff.

Just for the record, I really don't like unicorns, unless they're on MOTU gear. I have no idea why that is; it just is.

So will there be any "vintage" shirts? Hmmmmm if MOTU made tube gear, then socks would be a good choice! "Tube Socks"

You're possibly not a virgin?

Speaking of, I wonder whether that connection is why MOTU is dropping the Unicorn? One might think that Unicorn was a Virgin sub-brand?

I missed that post the first time around. Well, I am pretty certain that this guy wouldn't be too impressed, and not just because Rick's a really nice bloke.

Seriously, I don't think you'll impress anyone worth impressing with bling or blinkenlights. Attitude, and knowing when to say "erm, why?" and when to make suggestions, and delivering a professional product without delays on your part, I think will impress more people.
At least I get suitably impressed when people both take an interest in what they're doing, what their customers are doing, and deliver quality.

And now, fellow Unicornationals, you're going to be subjected to a rant. My apologies in advance.

Most importantly, never lie to me, even by omission. If something's going to take a day extra or can't be done as initially planned, for dog's sake tell me as soon as you realise it! I've soon lost count of the people I'll never do business with again, whether it's printing out sheet music, shipping equipment, restoring from a DAT or ironing my shirt, because of their attitude towards telling the truth, even when it's bad news. I don't care as much about whose fault it is as I care about being played for a fool.
If you tell me, I can grumble a bit and then work with you to get things fixed. And come back, cause you worked with me. If you don't, I'll not only take my business elsewhere, but relate my bad experience to others too.

And to fellow musicians, if you can't play something well because your fingers aren't that fast or your brain isn't wired for it, or you need a lot more practice before feeling comfortable, please tell. Fellow musicians and producers don't expect everyone to be Paganini, and things can be worked out. Don't send a sample of the one time you managed something impressive out of fifty tries. It'll bite you below where the back changes name, and you waste people's time -- people who could work something out, if only they knew!

Anyhow, sorry about the rant! It's 5 am, and I have an injured shoulder keeping me up, so my apologies. It's all true, though. :-)
