Re: Anyone know anything about Songtradr?
I have some limited experience.
It's a non-exclusive library similar to Pond5 or the like, and have a special section where clients post wanted music (e.g. like "Need Maroon5 replacement for commercial" or the like).
It started out quite promising, but it since changed to a "token" approach, which means you need a token to send in a track for such a "wanted" thing, and of course a token costs real money.
As quick example (taken from today's wanted list):
- Missy Elliot replacement
Tempo: Mid
Vocal: Female
Moods: confident, freewheeling, rowdy
In the style of: see link
What we don't want: explicit lyrics
Standard Commission: 30.00%
PRO User Commission: 20.00%
Credits per submission: 6
For perspective:
Songtradr PRO costs $7.99/Month
10 Credits cost $0.99
This wanted ad has been viewed roughly 1700 times
So, my personal opinion is - the interesting thing there is exactly these "music wanted" thing, but exactly that costs me money - regarding normal sales I can't say anything, none of my tracks got licenced (didn't tag and name them very well, so part is my fault of course)
I hope that helps!
