I'm not assigning malicious intent, relax fellas those are strong words, marketing leverage I would not put past anyone though so we shall see

I can't tell from the DP9 details page whether MX4 has been "upgraded" in any way, but they are including a free EDM sound bank that apparently was just recently generated.

I'm REALLY curious about the new MegaSynth plug-in for DP9, which is for taking various triggers (including analog signals) and then applying synthesis parameters.

Perhaps that is derived from MX4, or even from Volta?

Presumably that is the MAS version and no need for dongle. i would love to be able to use it with Mainstage as 64bit AU no dongle...is that a pipe dream?
You may have t be the person who calls MOTU to find out. It appears that you best know the questions to ask.
Don't forget it works a charm with 32Lives...

Since the time of DP9's release I have asked motu support if they will update MX4 as a separate product for those of us that already own it and want to use it in other hosts. Their response was that it has not been updated but they are considering it.

Cmon MOTU.... With new iterations of OSX , it breaks app like 32bit Lives ... I love MX4... I beg you to offer a update for AU/VST 64bit.....
Ive got so many tracks in logic, but when I have to move on... Well... bye bye.. Of course Id be happy tp pay an upgrade price... A Fair one however....

Please.. .Im trying not to use one of my all time fav VI's.... And the bait of switching DAW's just isnt enough for me...

So Again... Yes... Im begging.

I have asked them multiple times over a number of years. They don't care. They already ported MX4 to 64bit to include it in DP9. But the version we paid extra money for as a separate product..no love. Really disappointing.

I'd be asking the marketing department for cross-grade pricing to DP.

Yea, yea, yea, that's not what you want—but who cares? Not MOTU. It turns out you can't always get what you want but it does (pause for Al Kooper's organ) get what you need. Oh yea!

Damn, someone ought to put that in a song.

MX4 is my Ultimate GoTo Soft Synth.
I use 32Lives , works OK in DP10 and Live10 but I wish MOTU would offer it as 64bit/stand alone

Does any of that code belong to UVI? If so, there are probably licensing agreements that keep the standalone from being updated/upgraded.

MX4 is not UVI is it?

I also paid for the standalone version of MX4 and am a bit miffed that MOTU upgraded the version that is built into DP to 64bit but did not ever ship a 64bit version for those of us that actually paid for it as a standalone product. I asked them several times over several years and they always responded with something along the lines of "thanks we'll keep that in mind".

personally I think there is no reason whatsoever why they couldn't ship the standalone as 64bit... other then maybe they decided after the fact that they wanted to keep MX4 exclusively part of DP... those of us that paid for it in order to use in other DAW's...too bad for us.

Yep, love MOTU for the most part, but the deprecated software list is sad. The fact that MX4, Unisyn, Volta etc. have been abandoned with no official stance on it is frustrating.

I get the UVI related libraries being difficult to deal with, but the pure code stuff... :smash:
