desperate for upgrade

Post by menright »

I find myself using this wonderful tool (MX4) more and more often, sometimes just for some additional texture and sometimes for major lead work or coloring. Unfortunately, this has kept me from enjoying 64-bit DP8.

MOTU, please upgrade this software! I check the MOTU feeds and MOTUnation every day looking for some good news in this regard. Make this long-time user happy and give us a 64-bit MX4!

Can't that be bridged? I don't use it much at all with so many great synth VIs available for Kontakt, UVI, Korg Legacy, and MachFive.

Is it available as a VST? If so, or might be able to use jBridge M.

Bummer. If there were a VST then JBridge might have worked. There was a rumor that the developer was going to try to make a AU version of the bridge, but don't know if that's gonna happen. I imagine MOTU would eventually update it for 64 bit.

I recently did a 'soundscape' for a medical training video. I could not have done it without the MX4 (using DP 7.24). An underrated plugin!

Well, I'm not going back to 7, but I am forced to work in 32-bits until this is worked out. Would love to hear something from MOTU on this!

I also need 64-bit MX4. I recently posted a ticket to MOTU and the tech said that it is a highly requested update and that it's probably coming soon.

I just run DP8 in 64-bit mode. I can't deal with 2GB memory limits anymore and would rather wait for the MX4 64-bit version. I don't use it on a daily basis though. Sucks for other people who depend on it.

Me as well 64 bits, Love MX4 but wish it worked with 8 and 64 bits. I have M5-3 it is way cool but I can get sounds that are not the same in MX4.

I would love to see an MX4 update. I sold mine a few years back as I felt the audio quality wasn't up to snuff against newer VI's (it is one of the older ones by now), but always loved its interface and workflow as well as general sound design philosophy.

I think MOTU would have a real winner on their hands if they gave this plug the kind of upgrades and audio improvements that we have seen throughout their line. There's still nothing quite like it on the market. Also, the GUI interface totally rocks!

There's another topic here about a 32 to 64 bridging software for AUs. Someone might be able to report of MX4 works with it.
